Since this observer- ( in my earlier years) gourmet is currently in Rio de Janeiro for the city’ s gala Carnaval, my associate (and brother) has graciousy sent me this glittering restaurant review for my Blog Globetrotter.

PS: The Red Rooster has a gospel brunch ( with a live choir!) Sundays at 11:00 am and 13:15hs/ 1:15 pm …The Rooster has branches as well in London to Goteborg, Sweden, among 15 restaurant brands around the USA and the world.

The Red Rooster Harlem: Charm, Elegance and Great food

As we entered this lovely , elegant restaurant located on 310 Lenox Avenue in Harlem at West 125th Street , we were directed by a charming employee to the Gold Room.

Tables set out in U- shapes with Red couches on one side of the tables and the more conventional black chairs on the opposite side greeted us.

Adorning the walls were lovely paintings including one of singer- composer and pianist rock ‘n roller Little Richard ( which I thought portrayed him perfectly).

Food served buffet style included yummy corned muffins, deviled eggs, crisp mixed salad, collard greens with a touch of sweetness, catfish and fried chicken.

I found the fish to be perfectly cooked to my taste and the chicken tender and crispy.

The Red Rooster offers enough variety for even the most discriminating diner and the portions were plentiful.

And a lemon mousse dessert was served as the final touch to a lovely unforgettable dining experience.

Add soft lighting, a small candle and bouquet of flowers in a vase on every table, smiling and hospitable employees and one can only give the highest rating Red Rooster Harlem.
